THE SECRET ITINERARY OF THE PALAZZO DUCALE

Far from just echoing the pomp and ceremony of the institutions of the Republic, and of the private apartments of the Doge, the Palazzo Ducale houses the offices of the Secret Chancellery, the torture chamber and the infamous Piombi, the prison in the roof of the palazzo.
This tour takes us through narrow corridors and administrative offices. We will also see the cell in which Casanova was imprisoned, and the structure supporting the ceiling of the immense Sala del Maggior Consiglio where the Great Council of the Republic conducted its affairs.
