Venice has always loved theatre. The city itself is like a stage and amidst its scenery first arose theatres such as San Cassiano and San Samuele which now are only recalled in place-names. All that remains now is “La Fenice”, an atmospheric and charming location for which the great masters Verdi and Stravinski both composed operas.
